Santec Facility Aesthetics

Santec Corporation builds facilities to be as discrete as possible

Of course a wastewater treatment plant needs to perform well. A huge requirement especially in residential applications is how it looks, sounds and smells (or doesn't). The very nature of our primarily underground design lends our facilities to being low profile. We have many facilities in operation in close proximity to homes and businesses that do not disturb the neighbors.

Will it stink? How loud is it? What does it look like?

Odor Control

Because most all of the wastewater treatment process takes place in underground fiberglass tanks, collection of gasses produced is much easier than conventional systems. In certain applications we employ activated carbon systems to filter exhaust gasses before they exit the treatment system.

Noise

Our treatment systems require as few mechanical parts as necessary. The mechanical parts that are used are either enclosed in the equipment building or in the underground fiberglass tanks. This placement muffles noises and makes our facilities as quiet as possible.

Low Visual Profile

The tanks used in our systems may be huge but all you will see of them are the manway covers. Having most of the system underground makes it easier on the eyes. Many of the systems we have installed plant some trees or landscaping (also great for effluent disposal) to hide or beautify the site. In many cases most people would not even know that it is a wastewater treatment plant!

Minimize Pests

The underground installation of the system also means that the issue of pests is minimized as well. Filthy environments can attract and become the breeding ground of inspects and rodents. Our systems avoid these conditions and will not contribute to the local population of unwanted visitors.
