Flagstaff Ranch
Flagstaff, AZ
Flagstaff Ranch is an upscale golf community located in Northern Arizona consisting of 454 acres. Total build-out for the community will take years to complete. To address this issue, Flagstaff Ranch wastewater treatment plant was designed to be built in 3 phases. As housing phases are finished, the plant will grow to accommodate them. This wastewater treatment plant not only treats the wastewater produced by the community but also provides irrigation for the golf course. This solution was an ideal fit for both the developer and the environment.
Phase 1 was constructed with a design capacity of 30,000 gpd. Santec was subsequently re-hired to construct the second phase of 65,000 gpd which expanded the flow equalization capacity as well as the treatment capacity. The construction of phase 2 increased the total treatment capacity of the facility to 95,000 gpd. When needed, a third phase with a treatment capacity of 65,000 gpd will be added increasing the total treatment capacity to 160,000 gpd at full build-out.
The operator at Flagstaff Ranch can utilize either phase independently or both phases simultaneously depending on the flow volume coming into the plant. This type of operational flexibility is a huge advantage to the operator and helps to maintain an effective treatment process.
